The Presidential debate last Tuesday featured Republican Donald Trump casting immigrants as the destroyer of the “fabric of our country,” the reason for job scarcity among Blacks and for crime. Democrat Kamala Harris offered no real response. The immigration debate has been weaponized during this presidential election, with Trump vowing mass deportation and the Democrats promoting immigrants as an essential source of cheap labor.
Both duck the real question: why are so many immigrants coming? And who is benefitting from this migration?
As a result, American workers are being misled towards grassroots fascism, deepening the divide within the working class, and allowing the wealthiest in the United States to enrich themselves further.
