TOGETHER WE CAN RESIST OUR COMMON EXPLOITATION AND OPPRESSION.

JOIN THE FIGHT FOR EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL WORKERS.

The Break the Chains Alliance fights to improve working and living conditions for all workers, immigrants and citizens alike, by calling for equal rights of all workers to unionize and collectively organize. Towards this end, we demand an end to the criminalization of, and systemic racist violence against, immigrant communities. We demand the overturning of the Employer Sanctions provision of the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), which criminalizes undocumented immigrant workers, creating a new underclass of labor. This underclass is being super exploited by employers, dragging down conditions for all workers. The existence of this underclass undermines or prevents successful organizing and fosters hatred and divisions among workers. By repealing Employer Sanctions we can take a step towards equal rights for all workers by de-criminalizing undocumented workers. This would enable us  to unite as a class to resist and fight for change.

At this stage we are focusing on connecting with others to engage in dialogues about racism and immigration. We seek to transform narratives that reinforce systemic divisions based on racism and immigration status into conversations that advance our collective interests as working people across divisions in opposition to racism and our common exploitation.
